The Challenge

A developer holding a strategic land interest in a regional Czech city considers developing a major new retail scheme. Cushman & Wakefield’s advisory team, supported by our retail leasing experts, prepared a detailed and comprehensive feasibility study to determine the viability of retail in the subject location. Our advice considers the significant changes happening in the retail sector and how retail, and particularly shopping centres, will need to adapt.

The Solution

The market and customer profile of the location was considered, as were macro retail trends currently affecting the shopping centre sector. A comprehensive development roadmap was created to include tenant leasing strategy and layout recommendations. The key questions which were addressed were:

• Market opportunity

• Leasing strategy and layout

• Identification of key risks

• Evolution in retail

The Results

The client has made the decision to proceed with the development, supported by Cushman & Wakefield’s retail team including leasing and project management services. The project moves forward in the planning process.

• New business plan prepared

• Clear forward looking and realisable leasing strategy

• Scheme design and layout
